Loon Liquors sits on 5th Street West in downtown Northfield, Minnesota, combining craft distilling with wood-fired pizza in a unique dual-concept space. Founded by Andy Nelson, a former beer industry veteran who spent years perfecting his distilling craft before opening in 2017, the operation reflects his vision of creating a community gathering place centered around handcrafted spirits. The distillery occupies a converted downtown building where Nelson installed custom copper stills and built out both production space and a pizzeria that uses locally sourced ingredients. They produce vodka, gin, and whiskey using Minnesota-grown grains, with their spirits earning recognition throughout the Twin Cities metro area.
