Pathfinder Farm Distillery sits on a working farm in Keedysville, Maryland, about ten minutes from Antietam National Battlefield. Founded by Dave and Lisa Beahm in 2019, this farm-to-glass operation combines Dave’s background in agriculture with Lisa’s business expertise to create spirits using ingredients grown right on their property. The distillery occupies a converted barn on their 100-acre farm, where they grow corn, wheat, and other grains that end up in their bottles. They produce vodka, gin, and whiskey, with plans to expand their aged spirits portfolio as their barrels mature.
The Beahms didn’t start as distillers—Dave worked in agriculture and farming for years before deciding to add value to his grain crops by turning them into spirits. After getting their federal and state licenses, they spent months converting their barn into a working distillery, installing a custom copper still and creating a tasting room that overlooks their grain fields. Lisa handles the business side while Dave focuses on production, though both are hands-on in every aspect of the operation. Their philosophy centers on controlling every step from seed to bottle, which means you’re tasting spirits made from grain that was growing in the field outside just months earlier.
Visitors get to experience this farm-to-glass story firsthand during tours and tastings. The setting feels authentically agricultural—you’re surrounded by working farmland, not a polished tourist attraction. The tasting room maintains that farm aesthetic with rustic wood and views of the grain fields. It’s a small operation where you’ll likely meet Dave or Lisa personally, and they’re genuinely enthusiastic about explaining how their grain becomes your glass.
