Tattersall Distillery River Falls sits in an industrial park on Paulson Road, about 30 miles east of Minneapolis-St. Paul. Founded by Jon Kreidler and Dan Oskey in 2015, this Wisconsin outpost serves as the production facility and tasting room extension of their original Minneapolis operation. Kreidler, a former IT professional, and Oskey, who worked in finance, started Tattersall after becoming obsessed with the craft cocktail renaissance and wanting to make the spirits that bartenders actually wanted to use.
The River Falls location opened in 2018 as both a production expansion and a way to tap into Wisconsin’s more distillery-friendly laws. The 10,000 square foot facility houses their main production operation, including custom copper stills and fermentation tanks that can handle significantly more volume than their original Minneapolis setup. They’re known for their extensive lineup that goes well beyond whiskey—gin, aquavit, liqueurs, and botanical spirits that reflect Kreidler’s fascination with unusual flavors and Oskey’s precision with recipes.
What you’ll find here is a working distillery that feels more like a craft brewery taproom than a traditional whiskey shrine. The tasting room overlooks the production floor through large windows, and you can often catch the team in action. They’ve built a reputation for innovation over tradition, creating spirits that bartenders love but that also work for home cocktail enthusiasts. The vibe is unpretentious and educational—they want you to understand what makes their gin different or why their bourbon uses that particular mash bill.
