Remedy Distillery sits on Atlanta Highway in Flowery Branch, Georgia, about an hour northeast of Atlanta in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains. Founded by Chad Ralston and Mark Hardiman, two friends who left corporate careers to chase their whiskey-making dreams, the distillery opened its doors in 2017 after years of planning and navigating Georgia’s evolving craft distillery laws. The operation focuses on small-batch bourbon and rye whiskey, with everything produced on-site using traditional copper pot stills.
Ralston and Hardiman didn’t stumble into distilling accidentally. Both had backgrounds in business but found themselves increasingly fascinated by the craft whiskey renaissance happening across the South. They spent years researching, visiting distilleries, and learning the trade before committing to their own operation. The name ‘Remedy’ reflects their belief that good whiskey can be a cure for life’s daily stresses – a philosophy that carries through everything they do.
The distillery occupies a modern facility designed specifically for whiskey production, with a tasting room that overlooks the production floor. Visitors can watch the mashing, fermentation, and distillation process while sampling the spirits. The atmosphere strikes a balance between serious craft production and approachable hospitality, making it accessible whether you’re a whiskey novice or someone who knows their mash bills.
