ABOUT THIS DISTILLERY

Wisconsin Husband-Wife Operation Making Everything In-House

Ledgerock Distillery sits on a scenic stretch of Grandview Road in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, where founders Greg and Brenda Lehner transformed their passion for craft spirits into a small-batch operation that opened in 2018. The husband-and-wife team spent years perfecting their recipes before launching their distillery in a converted facility that houses their custom copper still and aging room. Greg brings a background in engineering to the precise craft of distillation, while Brenda handles the business operations and visitor experience side of things. They focus primarily on producing vodka, gin, and whiskey using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, with a commitment to hands-on production methods that allow them to control every aspect of the process. The distillery operates on a true craft scale, with Greg personally overseeing each batch from mash to bottle. Their flagship products include LedgeRock Vodka, made from Midwest corn and filtered through charcoal, and their LedgeRock Gin, which incorporates botanicals that reflect the Wisconsin landscape. The whiskey program is still developing as their bourbon and rye expressions continue aging in their rickhouse. What started as a dream between two partners has evolved into a legitimate craft distillery that’s finding its place in Wisconsin’s growing spirits scene.

WHAT SETS THEM APART

Engineer-Turned-Distiller Oversees Every Single Batch

Ledgerock Distillery stands out for its genuinely small-scale, hands-on approach where founder Greg Lehner personally oversees every batch from grain to glass. Unlike many craft distilleries that source neutral spirits or use contract production, the Lehners handle the entire process in-house with their custom copper still setup. Their location in Fond du Lac puts them in Wisconsin’s emerging craft spirits corridor, and they’ve focused on incorporating local ingredients and reflecting the character of their region in their products. The engineering background that Greg brings to the distillation process shows in the precision and consistency of their spirits, while the family operation maintains the personal touch that larger operations can’t match.

THE VISITOR EXPERIENCE

Working Distillery Tours No Tourist Polish

Visits to Ledgerock Distillery offer an intimate look at small-batch spirits production in a working facility where you can actually see and smell the distillation process happening. Greg or Brenda typically lead visitors through their production area, explaining their methods and showing off their copper still setup, fermentation tanks, and barrel storage areas. The tasting experience focuses on their current releases, allowing guests to understand how their locally sourced ingredients and careful distillation techniques translate into the final products. The setting is industrial but welcoming, more like visiting a friend’s serious hobby operation that happens to produce excellent spirits than a polished tourist destination. You’ll get straight answers about their processes, honest assessments of their products, and genuine enthusiasm for the craft of distillation.

IS IT WORTH VISITING

Real Craft Distilling Worth the Drive

This is perfect for people who want to understand craft distilling on its most authentic level, where you’re talking directly with the people who make the spirits and can see the entire operation in one room. Serious spirits enthusiasts will appreciate the technical knowledge Greg shares about their processes and the opportunity to taste spirits made in truly small batches. It’s not the place for elaborate facilities or entertainment beyond the spirits themselves, but that’s exactly what makes it valuable for visitors who want substance over flash. Families might find it educational, though the appeal is definitely geared toward adults interested in the craft. If you’re touring Wisconsin distilleries, this represents the passionate, hands-on end of the spectrum.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Ledgerock Distillery LLC — Visitor FAQ
