Current Spirits operates from a converted warehouse space at 375 Clearbrook Road in Elmsford, New York, bringing craft distilling to Westchester County. Founded by Jim Loupos, who previously worked in the beverage industry, the distillery opened in 2019 after navigating local zoning challenges to establish one of the few operating distilleries in the area. The facility houses custom copper stills and focuses on small-batch production of bourbon, rye whiskey, and seasonal spirits.
Loupos and his team built Current Spirits around the philosophy of local production with premium ingredients, sourcing grains from regional suppliers when possible. The distillery operates as both a production facility and tasting room, creating spirits that reflect the character of the Hudson Valley region. The space maintains an industrial aesthetic with exposed beams and concrete floors, while the copper stills serve as the centerpiece of the operation.
Visitors can experience the full production process through guided tours and tastings in an intimate setting that feels more like visiting a working craft operation than a tourist destination. The focus remains on educating guests about the distilling process while showcasing spirits that are still developing their reputation in the competitive New York craft distilling scene.
