Some nights call for bourbon, some nights call for coffee, and some nights call for both. Enter the Bourbon Espresso Martini, a cocktail that’s equal parts evening pick-me-up and after-dinner indulgence. It’s smooth, a little sweet, and has enough caffeine to keep the conversation going on the porch long after sunset.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz bourbon
  • 1 oz freshly brewed espresso (hot or cold)
  • 0.75 oz coffee liqueur (like Kahlúa)
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Coffee beans for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew your espresso and let it cool slightly if it’s piping hot.
  2. Add bourbon, coffee liqueur, espresso, and simple syrup to a shaker with ice.
  3. Shake vigorously until frothy and well-chilled.
  4. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
  5. Float 2–3 coffee beans on top as garnish.

Porch Tip: For a slightly sweeter twist, try using a bourbon with natural caramel notes or add a touch of vanilla extract to the shaker.
